CTE Pathway Program
DESIGN BUILD COMPETITION
The Career Education Foundation (CEF) is proud to champion the annual Design‑Build Competition supporting North Orange County ROP’s Construction students. Each year, CEF provides essential financial and logistical support to empower more than 50 aspiring builders as they engage in an intensive two‑day hands‑on challenge at Golden West College.
Through sponsorships, grants, and community partnerships, CEF supplies critical resources, ensuring students can focus on creativity, teamwork, and technical mastery. The competition culminates in completed sheds that are donated to local schools and nonprofits, turning student learning into meaningful community impact.
By investing in this event, CEF helps cultivate the next generation of skilled professionals while strengthening connections between education, industry, and the broader community.

DOG HOUSE COMPETITION
The annual Doghouse Build Competition brings together BITA 2 students from all six high school campuses to design, build, and decorate creative doghouses as a practice event for the larger Design Build Competition. Each class showcases its finished doghouses during a campus lunch display, where students and staff vote for their favorites.
CEF supports the competition by awarding scholarships to the three top‑scoring students across all schools, and the classes that produce the winning doghouses also earn celebratory pizza parties. Select doghouses are auctioned to raise funds for CEF, making the event not only a valuable hands-on learning experience in teamwork and construction, but also a spirited way to promote the BITA pathway and support future student opportunities.
